If you type a lower-case ASCII charactor from a limited set (dhlmoqrwz), several lines of formatted ASCII numbers are sent from the scanner. This looks like engineering debugging output rather than a customer feature. The sub-processor appears to be a NXP LPC4370. fxdscon. It never had a lock, it had a text field in the display available but never functioned. There were some users that were seeing the keypad lock on the SDS100 actually functioning through the Sentinel software in the early versions. I soldered wires to the three pins on the USB plug first and then soldered the 3 different sets of wires to the leads. Solder the bare wires together. The white wires are not used. However, after a couple lengthy trips to Uniden Repair, I was given a factory refurbished unit as a replacement to my original. I have heard from other sources besides those posting on this thread that the internal GPS and associated hardware mod works great. I can't wait until mine is returned.Sep 6, 2018 · I believe it’s Uniden’s use of a radio case (for the SDS100) used in their marine line of portable radios that’s at issue here. The marine case is touted as being waterproof/resistant so Uniden kept the moisture resistant feature and advertised it as a plus for the SDS100. But the marine portables don’t use SDR. I ran the SDS100 alongside the IC R30 for three hours yesterday in my office. The IC-R30 far outperformed the SDS100 and rarely stopped, opened squelch without good clear voice traffic. On noisy or poor voice traffic some were unintelligible on the SDS100, the IC-R30 still had impressive clear audio. Apr 24, 2022 · One can get ostracized quickly with the audio from a SDS100. People tend to shy away. In similar gatherings, the BCD325P2 is deemed not as offensive. But Uniden, by choosing the form factor of the radio’s outer case, constrained themselves to certain restrictive issues, one of which was the limited size of the speaker. .
